Getting Your Teeth Pulled Or Dealing With Credit Card Companies – Which Is Worse?

On Behalf of | Sep 16, 2013 | Bankruptcy

Despite a federal law passed a few years back requiring credit card companies to provide easier-to-read notfications to its customers and to limit the fees they can legally charge customers who are overdue in paying on their account, these companies are very clever and ruthless in the manner in which they seek to collect outstanding debts from cardholders.

One of the things they count on when they send customers delinquency notices is that the customer won’t know how to respond.  If the customer fails to respond to a court summons, they may be able to obtain a default judgment against that customer and then use that judgment to attach or seize the cardholder’s property or garnish his or her wages.  Even if they do go to court, if unrepresented, they may lack the expertise to effectively represent their own interests.

Giddens & Gatton Law, P.C. has a group of lawyers who can either set up a payment plan with the credit card company prior to any court hearing, fight the civil action if the credit card company’s claims are not legitimate or represent you in court to ensure that you do not get charged one cent more than what is just.  Call Giddens & Gatton Law, P.C. in Albuquerque at 505-633-6298 or visit the website at www.giddenslaw.com to talk to one of our attorneys about any credit card issues you may have.   Do not let the large credit card companies and banks take undue advantage of you.    If you don’t make the call, you will realize that you’d probably prefer getting a tooth pulled.
